Tips to find the hidden word in fewer tries

Seven habits that save tries, in every language. None of them needs a list of words.

Finding a word in six tries is mostly a question of method. These tips work in all fifteen languages of Motrix.

1. Start with common letters

Your first word should test the most frequent letters of your language, with no letter twice. The vowels and the most common consonants tell you the most.

2. Do not reuse grey letters

A grey letter is not in the word. Look at the keyboard: grey keys are letters to leave aside.

3. Move the yellow letters

A yellow circle means the letter is in the word, but not there. On the next row, put it in another place. After two tries, you often know where it cannot be.

4. Play a throwaway word

When you have most of the letters but many words still fit, do not try them one by one. Type a word made of new letters instead, over the letters already found. One row can rule out five letters at once.

5. Think about the end of the word

Many words end the same way in your language: plural endings, verb endings. With the first letter given, test a common ending early.

6. Remember that a letter can appear twice

When nothing fits any more, the word may have a double letter.

7. Keep the hint for the end

The hint shows one letter, once per game. It is worth most when two or three letters are missing, not on the first row.
